Visualisation : Computational Steering

Rationale

You may wish to use visualisation in conjunction with computation to allow you to modify a running job.

Limitations, Workarounds

Because of the limited number of visualisation nodes and the short run time allowed on these nodes and the difficulty in coallocating compute nodes and a visualisation node within a single job then computationally steering via a constant connection to a compute job is not viable. Instead you are encouraged to make a compute job save periodic state output to a file or files, and then visualise this by running a short visualisation job to examine the results. The ability to do this will be very specific to your use case, but information on successful use cases will be added as this emerges.
